Welcome to the download section. Currently there are five separate applications in the VastPark toolset, each with a specific purpose. Depending on what you want to do with the platform you may only want to download some of the tools. To help you on your way, find the description below that best matches you:
I’m a virtual explorer >
Whether you’ve been around the block a few times in some of the more conventional virtual world’s or are a beginner in this new era of the virtual web, you’ll feel at home using the Browser. Simply point it to the desired address (often prefixed with vp://) and it will do the rest.
I’m a virtual builder >
If you want to build virtual experience’s using existing content, please download the Creator. If you’re a world builder with your own content (content creator) please download the Publisher also. To see the end result you may also want to download the Browser.
I’m a content creator >
To get your content into the VastPark index to allow users to discover it, please download the Publisher and associated plugins. You’ll also want to download the Creator to search for your content and confirm its appearance/functionality.
Creatorbeta
Version: 0.9 (build 463)
Release Date: 10th April, 2008
Filesize: 6.8mb
The Creator is a WYSIWYG editor that is used to create “Park’s”. Currently it supports importing content only from the VastPark webservice, so if you would like to use your content, please download the publisher. This tool is for users who want to build their own virtual experience’s to share with others, create interactive presentations, machinima and much more. If you just want to view what others have done, you may not require the Creator.
Browser alpha
Version: 0.9 (build 669)
Release Date: 22nd April, 2008
Filesize: 5.9mb
The Browser is used to view hosted Park’s and is capable of dynamically downloading the content referenced within that park and caching it for fast subsequence access. Most users should download the Browser as it’s the simplest means of viewing the end experience.
Viewer alpha
Version: 0.9 (build 50)
Release Date: 10th April, 2008
Filesize: 5.3mb
The Viewer is capable of opening ParkPak files, which are fully self-contained virtual experience’s. As the ParkPak file format contains all of the IMML and content required, an active internet connection is not required by the Viewer to present the experience, making it quite a good way to present to an audience without fear of internet connection interruptions. The Viewer also has built in support for sequencing presentations, with navigation arrows appearing for ParkPak’s that have opted to include forward and back functionality.
