Hooray for 2009

As the 2009 working year begins for me on Monday, I’ve been reflecting on our development aims in the first 3 months of 2009.

By April, we plan to preview version 0.95 of the VastPark platform. This will bring with it a number of innovations and announcements and we’ll be presenting a web embedded version of VastPark Imp (Our pre-release code name for the player). My immediate focus is on making it easier for users to utilize VastPark and for developers to develop and release projects on the platform.

• To run or join a virtual meeting


• To create or join a group


• To set their profile, avatar and have a standard method of input


• Make the VastPark Imp a more complete consumer experience

• 2 master class events to help developers learn how to unlock the power of the VastPark platform


• Release the source code of the VastPark viewer


• Integrate a publishing process virtual environments and widgets

It’s going to be a watershed year for virtual environments on the web particularly in the areas of training, education and online think tanks / conferencing. I hope you’ll be involved with us in helping make this happen.
